The bedroom was dim, bathed in the soft glow of candles that Miwa had arranged earlier. Tyler watched as his wife of twenty years circled him, her eyes scanning him with the same intensity she used when proofreading an important document. She was choosing where to begin their transformation.
“You’re not nervous, are you, darling?” she asked, trailing a finger along his arm. Though they had discussed this roleplay night for weeks, Tyler did feel a flutter of anticipation. “This is just us,” she continued, her voice soothing. “No one else. Just as we promised.”
Tyler relaxed, his shoulders dropping slightly. “With you, I’m not nervous about anything. Only excited.”
Miwa smiled, her hand cupping his face. “That’s my husband.” She released his chin and walked behind him, grabbing a bundle from their bed. When she stepped in front again, she was holding a package of fresh razor blades and a can of shaving foam. “Ready to be prepped, student?”
